Job Purpose: The Roving Foreman will work closely with our glazing team, project management team, production team, sales team, and managers to ensure successful and timely field installation of commercial glazing projects. The right person will possess exceptional communication, organization, and logistic skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Installation layout utilizing technical equipment (ex:  line/dot lasers, 2D/3D layout stations, measuring lasers, etc) for specialized and unique applications including but not limited to:  Glass Handrail, Heavy Glass, Aluminum Storefront, Aluminum Curtainwall, Window Wall, and Ribbon Windows all in straightline, segmented, radius, and steps with gridline management 
  • Perform, log, and communicate pre and post quality checks of installations including pre-punch lists to ensure completion and client satisfaction 
  • Perform ‘special case’ or unique site measuring 
  • Assist in completion of punch lists and warranty work 
  • Attend pre and post project coordination meetings with clients and Brin staff 
  • Attend water testings, communicate findings, and provide guidance as necessary 
  • Coordinate with client and subcontractors to ensure job-sites are prepared and ready for installation 
  • Attend weekly field and production scheduling meetings 
  • Verification of embed locations for aluminum systems 
  • Advise on construction workflow and delivery coordination of installation material and equipment  
  • Provide sales team support on pre-bid process including installation and logistics 
  • Train, develop, and mentor ID workers, apprentices, and journeymen glaziers 
  • Diagnose and provide solutions to potential problems on project sites 
  • Promote work site safety  
  • Perform supportive Journeyman glazing functions as needed 
  • Shop drawing submittal review as requested 
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Two-year degree or 5+ years’ experience within the construction industry (journeyman glazier/iron worker preferred) 
  • Proficient in digital technology (iPads, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, 2D/3D Layout technology) 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills are an absolute must 
  • Valid Minnesota Driver’s License 
  • Regular travel to project sites is required 
  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, lifting, or stretching 
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written required 
  • Mechanical/construction aptitude 
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications 
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work on several projects simultaneously  
  • High degree of math skills
