Job Purpose: The Logistics Supervisor will supervise all logistics operations to control, deliver, and distribute both inbound and outbound materials for NWGF in an effective and efficient manner. The Logistics Supervisor will oversee our Delivery, Will Call, Shipping, and Receiving Process Blocks. Responsibilities in this role include the day-to-day operations of all logistics including scheduling, quality control and safety. This role will also hold all responsibilities for maintaining the delivery truck fleet and warehouse equipment. The Logistics Supervisor will support the overall strategy, key metrics, and processes needed to deploy optimized logistics operations for NWGF.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partners with the Production Manager to achieve divisional goals
- Works closely with the all shop leads to assure customer orders are ready on-time, and meet quality specifications
- Works with the NWGF leadership team to optimize routes and customer satisfaction along with overall profitability for company on delivery expenses
- Works with the customer service team for changes in delivery and any customer facing impacts on delivery
- Works with purchasing for management of inbound and outbound shipments
- Quality control of all processes related to distribution
- Coordination of shipping and receiving operations
- Coordination of daily shipping routes
- Coordination of equipment upkeep schedules
- Responsible for warehouse safety
- Responsible for the logistic requirements of the company
- Generate and communicate shipping quotes
- Continuous improvement mentality
- Weekly cycle counts of inventory
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Associates degree (preferably in Manufacturing or Business)
- Fluent in English, both oral and written required
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a professional delivery role
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with an ERP
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred
- EOS experience preferred
- Proven results producing cost savings/value
- Understanding planning, shipping, warehouse management and inventory systems
- Managing daily routes/schedules of shipments and deliveries
- Experience forecasting demand needs
- Experience in reporting on key production metrics
- Understanding of quality standards and health and safety regulations
- Effective communicator and negotiator in terms of both verbal and written skills
- Regularly communicate and collaborate progress statuses, concerns and questions with stakeholders.
- Ability to resolve increasingly complex problems
- Strong technical/math skills (Mathematics/Geometry)
- Strong team collaboration skills
- Strong attention to detail, with good organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize among competing tasks
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent active listening skills
- Extensive knowledge with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must be “Customer Service” driven
- Manage projects as assigned
